Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Carepon website, mobile and web applications, and any related services (together, "Carepon"). By using Carepon you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be 18 years or older, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to create an account, buy a voucher, or redeem a voucher.

2. What Carepon is

Carepon enables you to purchase and gift digital healthcare vouchers ("carepons") that can be redeemed at participating healthcare providers. Carepon is a marketplace and payment facilitator — it is not a healthcare provider, an insurer, or a medical scheme, and it does not provide clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

The healthcare service itself is provided by the participating provider, who is solely responsible for the care delivered. You should always consult a qualified clinician for medical decisions.

3. Accounts

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password and account secure.
  • You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised access to your account.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms or applicable law.

4. Vouchers — purchase and redemption

  • Each voucher is for a specific service and provider as displayed at checkout.
  • Vouchers may only be redeemed at participating providers and within the validity period shown on the voucher.
  • Vouchers are non-transferable once redeemed and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Unless required by law or expressly stated, vouchers are non-refundable once issued.
  • If a provider is unable to deliver the service for reasons within Carepon's control, we will issue a refund or substitute voucher.

5. Pricing, currency and payment

Prices are shown in your local currency at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe; Carepon does not store full card details. Any taxes are included in the displayed price unless stated otherwise. Carepon may change pricing at any time, but changes do not affect vouchers already purchased.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Carepon for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes;
  • attempt to interfere with, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service;
  • resell vouchers or use the service in any way that misrepresents the recipient.

7. Provider and partner terms

Healthcare providers and partners who list services on Carepon are bound by a separate partner agreement covering service standards, redemption, payouts, and data handling. Nothing in these consumer Terms limits a provider's professional or regulatory duties.

8. Privacy

Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Carepon is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Carepon excludes all warranties not expressly set out in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Where liability can be limited, Carepon's total liability arising out of or in connection with your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the voucher giving rise to the claim.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date above shows when they last changed. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app where practical. Continued use of Carepon after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, with consumer rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 unaffected.

Carepon is operated by Carepon Limited, a company registered in New Zealand.
